headshots part deux

below i'm posting a few unedited photos from a little impromptu photo sesh that my roomie/photographer extraordinaire, holland michael, took a couple weekends ago. we are both creative types, so we figured it would make for a fun afternoon to galavant around santa monica scouting fun locations and taking pictures. and, we were both happy with the turnout, i think. once i choose my favorites, and have them edited, i'll use these for my current headshots to submit for acting jobs. let me know your favorites!! hope you don't get sick of looking at my face :)

tv land

i was invited by my friend justin (aka jladd) to attend the tv land awards show red carpet. the event was held yesterday, and it was my first official red carpet event-well sitting in the bleachers, not actually walking the carpet, of course :)

anyway, we had a great time. as always, it was cool to be behind all the hollywood glamour, and see the backstage details of the event. we also got to see several celebs, some from older shows (the ones that actually deserve a spot on tv land!), some from newer ones. let's see...we saw most of the cast of the office (rainn wilson, andy, oscar, meredith, stanley...), a few golden girls (rue mcclanahan, betty white, bea arthur), roseanne, john goodman, jodie sweenten (aka stephanie tanner), ed asner (lou from the mary tyler moore show), vanessa williams (she was hosting), robert verdi (also hosting), kathy griffin, kinicky from grease, the dad and the fonz from happy days, doris roberts (everybody loves raymond), sarah chalke (elliot from scrubs), garry marshall, and greg brady.

flying is fun

so...my vague ending to yesterday's post is now going to be revealed! i know i bet all of you were just chomping at the bit-haha.e

at my boss, kris', memorial day last sunday, i met karen, who worked my job for him about 15 years ago. she and her husband, attila (yes, he was actually born in hungary, so he is sort of attila the hun) were really sweet people, and we ended up talking all afternoon. before we left, we found out that attila has his pilot's license, a 1939 luscomb prop plane, and loves an excuse to take people for a flight around la...so of course, in keeping with my plan to conquer as many exciting la experiences as possible, i jumped on the chance to take him up on his offer. so, holland and i met up with him today at the santa monica airport to each go on a flight!

let me tell you, it was amazing! we had so much fun, wow. the weather was perfect for flying, clear and sunny. we flew over the ocean, malibu, bel air, downtown la, hollywood, and a few other places. he took each of us up for about an hour; i was amazed at how smooth the flight was, too, in such a tiny plane. one of the highlights for me was seeing multi-million dollar mansions (literally some there were some that looked like versailles, or other european castles-it was crazy!) from the sky. i mean, i've seen some ritzy houses driving around in malibu and the hollywood hills, but none of them compared to these compounds that were all gated and could only seen from the sky. we also flew really low, since it was such a small plane, sometimes even as close as 45 feet above the water...
